Keeping You Posted

I advised you that I was having a problem with my server, and after about 30 hours of work, I have determined the root cause, but as yet have not resolved. The problem is exacerbated by th service contract I have and I am trying to work this out to ease the pain of having to do more manual work than I have the time an energy to do. In the interim the only problem that exists on the site is publishing the weekly POTW winner on the Home Page. Duff has been ill, and I am optimistic he will this will be resolved shortly.

Additionally, I have a couple of Photo jobs that could be significant in the long run, and since I have made commitments there are so priorities than must be dealt with in the short term

All of the photos you have submitted I have reviewed in the window that would qualify for POTW. I plan to review all weekly photos in the requisite time frame, but because I do not review all on a daily basis, this should not be considered as lack of interest on my part. It isn't.

Let me make you aware of Murphy's law it it's ugliest and most cruel interpretation. On the day I experienced the computer problem I took about eighty shots of original photos of the evolution and construction of the Hollywood Beach Hotel, circa 1910 - 1920. I run an automated backup of all my photos every day, and the problem I encountered occurred before the daily backup ran. ALL GONE! Potential loss approximately $8000 - $10,000. I did two quick edits for my client before the problem and he was ecstatic.

"A bump in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn." Short term might be a little "bumpy"

Trusting your understanding......................

Thanks Larry

Sorry to hear about the computer problem nothing worse when thats happens.I just brought a new computer just for photos so I`m sorting through it slowly with backup. It is one of the major reasons of me being slow as well as trying to read a book on Exposure & lighting on digital cameras.Let alone on other editing software.Hope you sort it all out
