I want to explain to all of you what is happening with the advertisements you see on the site. These fall into two categories.
We have an agreement with Google, that allows them to advertise their customers who have products realted to Photography. Everytime you click on an one of the ads and go to the link, we get paid by Google. This is called "Pay For Clicks" I am certainly not suggesting that you keep clicking on these for us to make money, and in fact don't want this to happen. I notice that there are a lot more photography equipment and software products appearing. I have checked a couple of these out, and the prices are very competitive. You might want to check these out!
The other type Advertisement on the site, and the only one right now, is ACD. If you click on their advertisement, and purchae a product from them, we will receive a commission. We do not get paid for clicks similar to Google. We are negotiating with other advertisers and more will be joining. As our member base grows, our advertiser base will grow as well. Also, as our base grows, this puts us in a better position to negotiate better deals for both you and APOW.
As much as this is a Labor Of Love for me, it is also a business. We only ask that you check out our advertisers, for those products you might be interested in purchasing. It is easy! It is efficient! It will help us all!

I have also noticed that the ads must be locality based because I get mainly Australian ads, but very few are photographic companies/products. Right now every ad by Google on this page's right hand column is financial. |

Missing the point here! They are about people advertising their products that might have interest to people on a photography site. I know some of them are a strectch, and, we talk to google about it. They are based on key words that are included in our Web code and descriptions. Unless they get completly wild, we wiill stay with them, because some of you must be looking, because we are getting paid. This is an important revenue stream for us. My best! |
