This is something I wanted to share. Before I had a little problem understanding how to work with layers. Recently editing photos I learned a little more about it and would like to share what I've learned.
Editing with layers is the best way not to ruin your original image.
1- Open your image and duplicate layer
2- At the bottom of the layers palette click on the circle that is half white and half black ane select levels. A new layer will appear for this. Adjust levels as you wish.
3- then click on that circle again and select selective colors. do the same
4- You can then adjust hugh and saturation, going the same way. (you can open an individual layer to adjust each color if you wish, makes it easier.
The good thing about this process is that you can go back to any of these adjustment layers. Select the layer you want to readjust and click on the little window that is marked on that layer.
5- At the end you can adjust curves too
6-You can adjust oppacity on each layer if you wish.
You can edit color balance or any other adjustment you want.
Another advantage of this process is that you can even delete an adjustment layer and do it again if you don't like the way it came out.
Do not flatten until you're finished.
This process is similar to the B&W that Andrey mentioned in another topic. | | There are no replies to this thread yet.
