Is there such a learning tool called "Layers for Dummies"? Try as I might, I can't quite grasp the actual process, because there always seems to be a step missing, or I don't know exactly how/where to find the necessary thing to carry out a particular task. I have read numerous tutorials, articles, etc, but it just doesn't sink in. I'm feeling very frustrated...and stupid. Help!! Thanks in advance, Judy |

it is why I stopped reading those tutorials, or they are talking in many words about things that are quite obvious, or they are omitting steps. Dummy - is the feeling. I just pressing buttoms and look what they are doing, and checking internet entry for something that I want to do... |

Thank you, Larry, for your offer to help, (and I'll get back to you RE: day and time), and thank you Andrey, for letting me know that I'm not the only one who is tutorial challenged. You've both made my day :-). Judy |

I work from what my kids call "being in the zone". I do all the adjustments that work on the screen for me then merge/flatten and it comes together. I tried to use instructions but then I got bogged down and lost the creativity that I initially felt, so I tossed the book into the recycling bin! There are good tutorials on line as Andrey suggests for specifics, but most times what you'd want to do no-one else has so you can use all the freedom in editing that inspires you. Take care..... |

I like your attitude, and will definitely follow suit, once I get the gist of the basic how-to's of layering. Let me tell you, it's rough being layer-challenged ;-) Judy |

What I found out - that Ihave to know what I want, if i have the idea - sooner or later with big help of F language, directed to my thinking abilities - I will do it. If I have no idea = I have no good results, and tutorials are, not exactly waist of time, but very close to. I had an experience to go to photography course in massart college. Gush - it was something, the teacher tryed to explaine me the rules, without explanations why to apply them. You have to see it - we departed after several lessions without physical damage. But bumps on the forehead -are pretty painfull thing, when you try to break the wall, just near the opening... |

I am with you Judy, I don't seem to find anything that helps me much with layers besides what Larry posted about sandwich layers under Techniques in the galleries. Maybe if we have more posts about that we would learn easier and faster. |

Larry's post about sandwiching layers was the most easily understood how-to guide on layers that I've ever read. It was clear, concise, and not all full of techno-speak like those so-called tutorials are. Thanks, Larry! |
