B&W

If I remember correctly - I placed something about B&W conversion, but, I think, it is a time yto place it again. Simple desaturation - leaves you with dirty colors (just remember that black and white are THE colors and Sezanne recognized about 30 variants of black). One of the best - is this method, looks complicated and I am too lazy to use it, but the results are very good:http://www.gormanphotography.com/bw_conversion.pdf

Easier is to adjust colors after desaturation (down red and up blue - till you have real black and white). Or use gradient map, or use monochrom setting in color mixer (play freely with all the controls). Final adjustment is good in selected colors tool - going up and down on black in white, black, and neutrals. And, please, remember, that sepia, and the other filters should be added to very good B&W transformation, - in this case you have it right. To make B&W pictures if your camera permits it - for me has no sense at all, because thansformed from the color - it has more details and character. I would be glad if anybody add anytrhing, - it is really broad area how to make good B&W.
