Posts: 214 | Non-APOW Monthly Photo Contest
Hi Everyone, I just want to tell you about a Monthly Photo Contest that I had entered in January. In a nutshell, there are 10 different categories, basically either different types of scenics and flora & fauna. You can enter a photo a week, if you wish, it must be a different photo each time within that particular month. Winners are chosen in each category, and one entry is voted the Photo of the Month, for which the photographer wins $250 for him/herself, plus, $250 contribution to the Blind charity of his/her choice. I discovered this website this past January, and decided to enter my lotus blossom photo, and to my great surprise, the judges picked my photo for January's Photo of the Month! I've already talked to Larry about this contest, because I wanted to get his take on the website before spreading the word. He checked it out and gave me the okay to post this info. Just so you know...the judging and contacting the winner process is a bit slow (at least one month behind), and so is getting the money (mine came on Easter morning!! Nice Easter Bunny!). Thank you so much for your kind words. I stumbled on this site by accident, and I'm really glad I did ;-). We have so many talented photographers in our group, and I know there will be many more contest winners from APOW. And Cheri, congratulations on entering the contest! I'll be rooting for you!
