Something different in Galleries?

When I logged on tonight to review todays uploads I got a different screen. It is 14 days worth of randomly selected photos. Is this the way it's going to be? Or a glitch?
I checked the announcements and didn't see anything about it. What's up? Nina

Re: Something different in Galleries?

Personally, I don't like it. I liked being able to go to each day, especially the day that was going off the calendar. I would always look at the previous day to see if I missed any, then look at the new day. Also, are the ones we already reviewed off the random listing? It seemed that I had reviewed some of the ones that came up. Nina

galleries

Can you imagine what it would be like once we have -say- 500 members and only 100 upload daily. We would have 1400 photos on the gallery every day. As it is if we have 30 uploads every day in 14 days we will have over 400 to go through. I really think the old way is better. Nina

Temporary basis

I am willing to give it a try because I am finding the two reviews I did recieve where of later submission's. Which I hope everyone is getting reviewed on older submissions as well.

But I do wish I could go back and see what uploaded today or yesturday. I am finding that this isn't working very well for me. I have tryed different ways but not kin on it.

I think we should give this a trial basis for a week and if we really don't like it then we could maybe go back to the old way, or something else better...Any Ideas?

Photos Returning

I agree I like the old way better. I see several I want to review and when I review one and go back to review the other ones I saw they are no longer there. Also seems old photos are showing up over and over.

You asked me to make a comment. You would only see the ones you didn't review. Supposed we started from scratch. Right now there are 30 photos per day on the average. If you reviewed half of them, then there would be a carry over until the next day for you of 15 plus the number that is submitted that day. Look for Jacob's information today and let's go from there. Okay?

This is what it says "The file(s) below are randomly selected from all images uploaded during the past 14 days for your selected category." If it is in fact only two days days then that would be fine. I also liked being able to see the newest submissions first, since I go on and review more than once a day. Not trying to make waves, just giving my honest opinion. Nina

Could we vote? Larry, where are you?

My guess is that our dynamic duo is collecting the reactions and assessing how things go without any input from the top until we work out the kinks in this new system. I have read several suggestions ranging from NO WAY! to LET'S TRY IT FOR AWHILE. Since this new way of having 2 weeks worth of photos was presented I have not had any reviews on the last 2 uploads, maybe 5 or 6 for older shots (thank you) but to me also distressing is the fact that I have not received any response or acknowledgment for about 10 of the last 20+ reviews I've written. I have a hard time keeping up anyway, but an incentive to WRITE one is to GET back feedback about the photo from the artist......I LOVE building up trust, ideas and relationships with almost perfect strangers because of the critique feedbacks.

I think after maybe another 5 days or so we vote (like our first intro questionnaire we had to complete to join) on the several options we've come up with. I, for one, would love to have my photos be seen, reviewed etc. for no more than 3-4 days....that''s enough time for those who were away or too busy to check, for those who spend all day creating and editing thus temporarily forgetting the other side of this responsibility, for those who like uploading around 11pm (like me) are then assured to have at least a review or 2 because the old way, it lasted a full hour and was then zapped....for those who feel 2 weeks worth are WAY TOO MANY and way too slow....perhaps you'd enjoy my thoughts about a 3-4 day extension rather than 14 days. The older photos can always be seen via the calendar at the top of the page. Anybody want to nominate a better idea? pb

EMAIL

It seems that some of you did not get GOAPOW WEBMASTER emails from THE DEFENDERS 11/11/? They both explained their thinking on the changes and assured us that this change in reviewing is temporary until some new improved version is created that will be more sensitive to both old and new uploads. Post your suggestions as many have done, we'll be hearing about many changes coming up. IF you did not get the emails, maybe they could be re-posted. Remember, new members are arriving daily and some now haven't a clue about the new/old controversy. Let's not scare them off but be patient that all will be resolved. I know our DEFENDErS aren't trying to do this fantastic site in. Hold on, keep cool and keep making some great suggestions such as I've been reading here. : ) pb (trish)

My two cents.

Well I got a big 3 reviews today. I love the idea of the new posting page and the almost gone page and having the rest go into the random gallery. Ginger I agree, I love it here, and I want it to be the greatest photography site on the internet. Nina
