I have a white, rather it used to be white, background, it is fabric on one side and plasticized on the other. It is just not practical, it hangs with sags due to the rickey backdrop support I have and attracts dust even though the door is closed! I would really like to replace it by painting a wall, easy enough, but what paint? Wondering if anyone knows if there's a white paint that won't reflect the light as it flashes. |

Back in Russia people in the studio dusted a shugar powder (not crystalls, but a powder) on the fresh paint, and, when it dry - just wash it - it does not reflect. But just try it on small area first. But the best stuff is a seamless paper, you can glue it or hung it on the wall. It's reflection quality is excellent. You can get frosting stuff for windows Any home depo stores) amd cover the paint - it has minimal reflection. Having velcro on you walls permits you to change a background easily.. When you hang it on any system - it has wrinkles, And I hate to see them on my pictures after it is done. Velcro permits you to tight things very good. Any face powder on the wall, covered by the stuff for fixation of drawing, or hairspray - will hold, but eventually fells off. |

Thank you all, I think we can all agree that Andrey is a genious. I had the paper before the back drop but didn't put it on the wall and it was nice and white. I like the paint and powder I may give that a shot first. If that fails (rather if I mess it up!) it will get the frosting effect. After that, it's back to the paper! THANK YOU! |

well Jack, I really thank you, I'll tell you, I used to use rolls of paper and found it very expensive, I tend to shoot lots of babies who are naked and pee a lot! ( I started out shooting my grandsons and now if someone has a baby they get sent my way). That's why I went to the while plasticised thing! I think after Christmas I will try and paint the wall, failing that it's back to the paper for me with possibly the plasicised thing on the floor so I can wash it. |
