I am looking for a new camera and lens. Does any one out there know anything about these. Cameras: Canon EOS-20D
Sony DSC-F717 Lenses: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III

Thanks,

Web Gallery

Thanks Pam for the information. Do you have a web gallery where I could go and view your photos? I am not sure how to view your photos in goapow. Also what is the price range on the camera and lens if you don't mind sharing.

Your Photos

Hi Pam again, I just figured out how to view you photos on goapow. I did a search on photos i reviewed and I had reviewed one of yours. When I click on your name it allows me to go and view your gallery. Honey you got great photos. Did you use your Canon EOS 30D and Conon 75-300mm lens on most of them. Or did you use the stabilization lens. I am so eager to get great photos like yours. They rock.
Thanks,
Skeeter

canon 20D

I have it and pretty happy with it, now it is around $600 new and still good. I did not see big difference between 20d and 30d. Sony 717 - i think it is offered by Larry on our junkyard, - it is a jem for the money, but the next step is 828 that is very very good. Lenses - it depends what you want to do. without reservation 100mm 2.8 is an excellent lense with 24 degree angle, very sharp and not expensive, - it is rare for canon. 17-85 is a middle quality lense for middle quality money, not bad at all, but... 75-300 - the same. I prefere top quality lenses because it is what makes you images, may be to look for manual lenses? But it is not bad combination, stay away from 18-55, mediocre one. If you want to change camera now and not bonded to any brand by lenses - I think sony alfa is the best buy, but 20D is very good and I am not in a harry to change it. Good luck

Canon 20D

Thank you so much for the information. Cameras are so expensive and it is hard to know what to buy.
Thanks again,
Skeeter
